Creech civic leaders officially join Hunter family

The 432nd Wing/432nd Air Expeditionary Wing commander, Col. Stephen Jones, presided over the base's first self-organized civic leader induction ceremony since obtaining installation command authority from Nellis Air Force Base. The ceremony was a marker for a new era of community involvement for Creech AFB and the Hunter Family.

Vegas Strong: Human Performance Team supports community

Suffering from shock, disbelief and sometimes the feeling of numbness, individuals impacted by a traumatic experience should receive help from trained professionals 24 to 72 hours after the initial crisis impact. Hours after the Las Vegas tragedy, member of Creech’s Human Performance Team and Nellis Air Force Base trauma teams made themselves available to Airmen and their families. "My wife and I were watching online when the story broke,” said Capt. Henry, 432nd Wing chaplain. “We watched as they reported and realized the impact the event would not only have on our city, but our nation."

Vegas Strong: Airmen and families support victims of shooting

After the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, the Las Vegas community was left saddened and distraught, but not broken. Airmen from Nellis and Creech Air Force Base sprang into action to help on the domestic battlefield, doing all they could to help victims, their families and their beloved community. “Our 432nd Wing Hunters specialize in finding and neutralizing foreign threats who seek to harm our innocent citizens,” said Col. Julian Cheater, 432nd Wing and 432nd Air Expeditionary Wing commander. “Homegrown attackers are more difficult to locate.”

The golden hour: A military responder

The date is Aug. 11, 2016. Glass and debris lie scattered across the pavement amongst puddles of oil and brake fluid. The hiss of passing traffic is mixed with slow, faint gasps for air as sweltering heat waves radiate across the Las Vegas highway. A woman stumbles about, confused, an unresponsive man lies on the gravel and two other individuals sit motionless in a crushed automobile.
