An MQ-9 Reaper Extended Range (ER) sits in a hangar Nov. 17, 2015, at Creech Air Force Base, Nevada. The Reaper ER was operationally tested and fielded through the 556th Test and Evaluation squadron and Detachment 4, 53rd Test Management Group and can carry two external fuel tanks each holding 1,350 pounds of extra fuel allowing for a higher endurance time. Other upgrades included a four blade propeller and alcohol water injection. The aircraft also features new software updates allowing Air Combat Command and Air Force Special Operations Command to operate on the same software baseline ensuring everyone is on the same page as far as operating the aircraft.
