MQ-1 PREDATOR CRASHES on Nevada Test and Training Range

At approximately 10:17 a.m. PST, an MQ-1 Predator crashed during a routine training mission in an unpopulated area 1 mi. southeast of Cactus Springs.

No one was injured. Base first responders have secured the crash site and all appropriate safety measures have been employed. More information will follow as it becomes available.

The MQ-1 Predator is a medium-altitude, long endurance unmanned aircraft system. Predators can also perform the following missions and tasks: intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, close air support, combat search and rescue, precision strike, buddy-lase, convoy/raid overwatch, route clearance, target development, and terminal air guidance.
