Airmen from various units around the United States Air Force donned their uniforms to showcase America’s continuous dedication to providing dominant airpower at the Live on Green event in Pasadena, California.

“We are very excited and honored to have the U.S. Air force here with us,” said a Live on Green official. “We encourage the public to come out and see what the Air Force has to offer to our youth and America.”

Airmen with the MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper community are assigned to the 432nd Wing/432nd Air Expeditionary Wing, Creech Air Force Base, Nevada, the 12th Flying Training Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph and the 57th Wing, Nellis AFB, Nevada.

“It’s a great opportunity for Creech Airmen to get out and tell the story about the remotely piloted aircraft revolution in the Air Force and the impact our mission has in keeping America safe,” said Capt. Eric, 432nd Wg pilot.

The free event occurred Dec. 29, 2016 through Jan. 1, 2017 and focuses on helping celebrate the Air Force’s 70th anniversary. It included demonstrations from the USAF Honor Guard Drill Team, an F-35 Lightening II static, ad MQ-1 Predator static and various booths highlighting Air Force advancements in science, research, medicine and cyberspace.

Airmen were honored with a celebratory cake cutting ceremony to commemorate the Air Force’s dedication to providing superior airpower across the globe.

“Today we’re celebrating 70 years of airpower and this is something to be proud of,” said Gen. Stephen Wilson, Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force.

The festivities will conclude with the world famous Tournament of Roses Parade and the Rose Bowl Game.
