Colonel Christopher R. Chambliss is commander, 432d Wing and 432d Air Expeditionary Wing, Creech Air Force Base, Nev. He is responsible for all operations and maintenance of the Air Force's first Unmanned Aircraft Systems wing, equipped with more than 100 MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aircraft. The 432d wing trains pilots, sensor operators, and other UAS crewmembers, and conducts combat surveillance and attack operations worldwide. As the 432d Wing and 432d Air Expeditionary Wing commander, he leads more than 2,000 Active Duty, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, government civilians, and contract personnel in two groups and the wing staff. In addition, as the 432d Air Expeditionary Wing commander, he has operational command over more than 250 Air National Guard personnel, located in Texas, Arizona, California and North Dakota.

Colonel Chambliss entered the Air Force in 1983, receiving his commission from the Reserve Officer Training Corps Program at Kansas State University. He earned his pilot wings as a distinguished graduate at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. He instructed in T-37s, then upgraded to the F-16, flying at various operational units in Tactical Air Command, Air Combat Command, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, and Pacific Air Forces. Col Chambliss served on the staff at U.S. Pacific Command and commanded the 524th Fighter Squadron at Cannon AFB, N.M., and the 52d Operations Group at Spangdahlem AB, Germany. Prior to his current position, he served as the 366th Fighter Wing Vice Commander at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.
